Two DIY Holiday Projects Featuring Grandioso

It’s still very much autumn, but here at Kelly Paper we have the holidays on our mind. Can you blame us? Kelly Paper is now exclusively carrying Grandioso, a collection of fine and elegant papers for the creative crafter, and we’re having a lot of fun with it! In anticipation of the holidays, we are excited to share two DIY projects.

Grandioso DIY Holiday Garland

Winter Wonderland Garland

A garland can instantly add a hint of celebration. This Winter Wonderland garland uses Stardream® pearlescent colors Kunzite, Bluebell, and Lapis Lazuli, and Plike® White, which provides a “plastic-like” texture.

Materials Used

  • 8-1/2×11 Premium Cover, Stardream® Kunzite, 22020W
  • 8-1/2×11 Premium Cover, Stardream® Bluebell, 22020Z
  • 8-1/2×11 Premium Cover, Stardream® Lapis Lazuli, 22021F
  • 8-1/2×11 Premium Cover, Plike® White, 22020F
  • Mini Glue Dots, 99380C
  • Ribbon
  • 1/4″ Hole Punch
  • Scissors or Paper Cutter

Steps

  1. With a personal die cutter, cut out the letters in your desired font. For this project, we used the Cricut Folk Art cartridge, and set the size to 5.5”.
  2. Layer the letters together; adhere with Glue Dots.
  3. Cut the Plike® White backing at a height of 6” and variable widths. Width is determined by adding about ¼” to the width of the letter.
  4. Note: If you are using a different font, determine height by measuring the tallest letter and adding ½”

  5. Cut the Stardream® Bluebell backing, which is 1/2” higher and wider than the Plike White.
  6. Layer the letter, White and Bluebell together; adhere with Glue Dots.
  7. Punch and string together!

Grandioso DIY Holiday Cookie Exchange

Holiday Cookie Exchange Invitation

Host your own Holiday Cookie Exchange Party! Provide the recipe cards in your invite for ease and added fun. Ask your guests to bake a few batches of their favorite cookie recipe, and then bring the goodies, along with the written recipe, to the party.

We have two versions of this project: one with an A-7 envelope, and one in a pocketfold. The pocketfold holds a maximum of 8 cards, while the envelope can hold 12 recipe cards. Choose wisely!

Materials Used

  • A-7 Envelope, Stardream® Jupiter, 22009N
  • A-7 Flat Card, Stardream® Jupiter, 22018Q
  • A-7 Overlay, Canaletto Bianco, 22018Z
  • A-2 Envelope, Stardream® Emerald, 22005Y
  • 8-1/2×11 Premium Cover, Canaletto Bianco, 22021K
  • Mini Glue Dots, 99380C
  • Scissors or Paper Cutter

Steps

  1. Design and print your invitation on the A-7 overlay (4.75 x 6.75). Canaletto is inkjet friendly!
  2. Adhere the printed overlay to the flat card.
  3. Design recipe cards (size 5.5 x 4.25) and print four per page on the 8-1/2×11 Canaletto Bianco premium cover.
  4. Cut the recipe cards and fill the A-2 Stardream® Emerald envelope with a maximum of 12 cards.
  5. Add the A-7 card and the A-2 filled envelope to the A-7 Stardream® Jupiter envelope and it’s ready to mail!

If you’re going the pocketfold route, forgo the A-7 Stardream® Jupiter envelope. You will instead need the So…Silk® Vanity Pearl pocket fold and matching envelope (22002J & 22021U, respectively).
