Jan has spent her entire professional career in the paper industry, and brings broad experience to her role as president of Spicers Paper and its sister company, Kelly Paper. Jan began her career in sales and marketing roles for Atlanta-based Neenah Paper before her appointment to Director of Marketing, leading one of the industry’s best known and creative product marketing and development programs. In 2001 Jan moved to Neenah’s parent company, Kimberly-Clark, taking on the role of Director of Global Strategy/Commercial Towel and Tissue business. She moved back to her native California in 2007 to lead Kelly Paper, and in 2011 became the president of Spicers, leading the company through its 2012 acquisition by Central National-Gottesman Inc.
Rick began his career with Spicers Paper, Australia in 1983, where he worked in finance and accounting roles leading up to his position as Finance Controller. In 1997, he moved into the sales and operations side as a Regional Manager, and eventually ran Spicers Paper New Zealand in 1999 and Edwards Dunlop Paper in Australia in 2000. Rick relocated to the US in 2002 to oversee the US expansion of Spicers Paper in his role as Vice President of Midwest Operations, eventually moving to California in 2006 as VP of Purchasing for PaperlinX North America. Rick became Vice President, Finance & Administration in 2012, overseeing all finance, treasury, legal, purchasing and administrative functions for both Spicers Paper and Kelly Paper.
Rod has been in the paper business for close to 35 years, working entirely with Kelly Paper. He began working in the retail store program when Kelly had just eight locations throughout Southern California. Rod grew through the Kelly store management program, first as a District Manager then as Store Operations Manager in 1993. In that role, Rod was instrumental in identifying new territories for the Kelly retail model expansion, opening 38 of the current 45 Kelly Store locations. In 2012, he moved into a Regional Manager position, working closely with the stores and customers to ensure Kelly Paper continues to evolve and align with the ever-changing business environment of our customers.
Sergio joined Kelly Paper as a store associate in 1992, and went on to manage both the Culver City and Cerritos stores. He moved to Kelly’s IT Department in 2002, leading several key technology upgrades for the company, including in the warehouse. Sergio transitioned to Kelly’s Purchasing Department in 2008, overseeing the company’s new centralized buying and merchandising programs for 50 retail stores and 160 sales reps. Sergio was promoted to General Manager, Purchasing in 2012, adding Spicers Paper to his responsibilities. He also continues to act as a Category Manager for both companies, focusing on Digital, Graphics and Sign and Display.
Tom began his sales and marketing career with the company in 1977, working as a Sales Associate at the Kelly Anaheim store. Tom grew with the company, working his way to Assistant Manager by 1979, and as a Store Manager at both the Lakewood and Los Angeles stores, in addition to the Anaheim location throughout the 1980s. Tom also spent several years as a District Manager at JC Paper in Southern California (now closed), but returned to Kelly Paper in 1999. Prior to becoming Regional Manager, Tom was also a District Manager and Sales Manager.
